01 / The starting point

The plan should not be buried in the group chat.

A group trip creates a small information problem: the booking details, daily plan, shared spending and photos can all end up in different places.

Our Away Days started as a personal project for family and friends, bringing those pieces together in one app instead of asking the group to search back through messages.

02 / The product

One place for the trip.

The supplied project describes link-based joining and a phone-first hub for the information people need while travelling.

  • Today’s plan and booking details.
  • A shared kitty for group spending.
  • A place for trip photos.
  • Games and shared activities for the group.
03 / The design question

Build for people who will not read the instructions.

The intended setting is a phone, in the middle of a trip, when people want the next useful detail rather than a lesson in how the app works.

That makes clarity and ease of use central to the design. The source notes describe poor mobile signal as a design consideration, not a promise of offline functionality.

Explore the possibility

Could scattered information become one useful experience?

A customer portal, member hub or internal workspace can start with a similar problem. The opportunity is to organise the information around what someone needs to do next, rather than around the systems storing it.

The supplied image shows the app’s planning interface. The project description does not imply a measured performance or offline-access guarantee.
